Mental Health & Occupational Therapy
At Monarch, children’s mental health and occupational therapy work side by side under one roof. Our approach is attachment-based and neuro-relational. We look beyond behaviour to understand what a child is telling us, and we work closely with parents as the most important people in their child’s life.
Mental health counselling helps children with anxiety, big feelings and emotion regulation, challenging behaviours, ADHD, autism, grief and loss, family changes, and friendship and school challenges. Sessions for younger children are often play-based, because play is how children make sense of their world.
Paediatric occupational therapy helps children build the everyday skills they need at home, at school and at play. That includes sensory processing, developmental delays, eating challenges, executive functioning and fine motor skills.
Many children benefit from both. Because our counsellors and OT are on the same team, they can share what they learn (with your consent) and work together with you, your child’s school and other professionals. You don’t need to know which service your child needs before reaching out. Tell us what you’re noticing and we’ll help you decide where to start.
